Former Derry City and Finn Harps player Stephen McLaughlin scored for Southend in Thursday night’s English League 2 Play Off Semi Final.
McLaughlin’s back post header was the first of two extra time goals that give Southend a 3-1 win over Stevenage on the night and a 4-2 aggregate victory.
Southend will play Wycombe at Wembley in the Final after they beat Plymouth 2-1 to seal a 5-2 aggregate win.
It was a disappointing night for Donegal man Carl McHugh who started in the Plymouth defence.
