Derry stunned at home by Galway

derry cityDerry City 0, Galway United 2

Goals from Padraic Cunningham and Jake Keegan gave Galway United an unexpected away win over a spluttering Derry City.

Cunningham pounced on a mistake from goalkeeper Gerard Doherty to put the visitors ahead on 23 minutes against the run of play.
And the visitors doubled their tally just four minutes later as Keegan headed in to silence the Brandywell faithful.
It was a night when little went right for City. Goalkeeper Doherty went off injured and his replacement, young Donegal goalkeeper Shaun Patton, also had to leave through injury and striker Anthong Elding ended up playing in nets.
Cillian Morrison, Mark Timlin, and Barry McNamee as chances for Derry but they just could not find a way through.
Another disappointing results then for the candystripes whose season has yet to come to life.
