Derry city will travel to Longford on Saturday evening looking to get back to winning ways.
Despite having the majority of the possession and chances against Bohemians on Friday evening, they were eventually undone losing 2-1.
Derry are currently sitting 7th in the league one place behind the hosts. While both teams currently have twelve points, it’s the home side Longford who sit in 6th due to goals scored.
Games between the two teams have been few and far between in the premier division, meaning you have to go back to the last day of the 2007 season for the last game between both in the top flight. On that day, Longford Town ran out 3-1 winners with a hat-trick on the night from Dave Mooney. Derry’s goal was scored by current Finn Harps striker Kevin McHugh.
Speaking ahead of the game Peter Hutton said. “Longford are always a very difficult opponent particularly when they are at home, and the results they have behind them this season so far shows that.”
Derry will travel to Longford without Patrick McEleney(groin) Philip Lowry (groin) and Stephen Dooley(back), while Ryan McBride misses out as he is suspended for this game.
