O’Donnell’s goal sends Cockhill to FAI Senior Cup 2nd round



Ulster Senior League Champions Cockhill Celtic are through to the second round of the FAI Senior Cup, beating Casement Celtic 1-0 at the Charlie O'Donnell Ground on Saturday evening.

Cockhill pressed the Cork side from the start but had to wait until the 75th minute for the game's only goal.

Finn Harps backroom team member William O'Connor sent in a low cross which was met by the in rushing Aidan O'Donnell to poke the ball into the net.

Casement ended the tie with ten men after one of their players was given two yellow cards.

Cockhill will be hoping for a another home tie in round two when the big sides of the League of Ireland enter the competition.
