INMO say bed crisis at LGH is not linked to the 2013 flood

Hospital Beds

The head of the country's biggest nursing union says the overcrowding crisis at Letterkenny General Hospital this year had nothing to do with the flood of 2013. Neither, he says, is there a major problem with delayed discharges.

INMO General Secretary Liam Doran says the core problem at Letterkenny General is that there are not enough beds to meet the demand at the hospital, and the government must address that head on.

He says the staff and community response to the flood was superb, but the current problems are a completely separate issue..........
