Limerick 0   Derry City 2
Derry City notched up a welcome win as they travelled to Limerick and came away with maximum points against the Premier Division’s bottom club.
Barry McNamee and Mark Timlin were on target for City in the first half at Jackman Park.
After last weekend’s disappointing scoreless draw against Bray at the Brandywell this was just the tonic needed for city boss Peter Hutton.
City had the better of things in the second half and could have added to their tally.
Derry are now sixth.
Other results from Monday night: Bray Wanderers 0, Shamrock Rovers 3; Cork City 2, Longford Town 0; Dundalk 3, Galway Utd 0; St. Patrick’s Athletic 2, Drogheda Utd 2; Sligo Rovers 0, Bohemians 0.
