Over four thousand extra jobs have been created by Local Enterprise Office supported companies in the past 12 months.
The Jobs Minister Richard Bruton has published the annual results for L-E-O’s for 2014.
In total, over 7,300 new jobs were created – taking into account losses, there was a net increase of 4,012.
In Donegal, the Local Enterprise Office here created 45 new jobs in 2014, with 1,223 people employed across 159 client companies.
In the border region as a whole, last year saw 470 new jobs created, with 1,049 client companies employing 5,323 people.
Enterprise Minister Richard Bruton says start-up businesses create two thirds of all new jobs in Ireland, and they also offer huge potential to support jobs growth in every town and village in the country.
