A 23-year-old man was assaulted by two masked men who forced their way into a house in the Waterside area of Derry last night.
The men forced open the door of a house at Moore Street before attacking the man shortly before 8pm.
The victim did not need hospital treatment.
PSNI Inspector Jonny Hunter said the men gave the appearance of being armed, although no weapon was seen.
He added: “No motivation for the attack was mentioned. It is believed the men left in a vehicle afterwards.”
Appealing for information, Insp Hunter added: “The number to call is 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
