Irish Water to start reading meters this week

Water Meter
Irish Water will tomorrow start reading meters in advance of their first round of bills.
The utility confirmed last week it’s expecting a large number of queries about the bills, because of gaps and errors in the information they have on some properties.
Meanwhile it’s reported today that the names of more than 100 thousand council tenants have been passed on to Irish Water by local authorities. Two weeks ago, it was confirmed that management at Donegal County Council would hand over the details, despite a direction from members not to do so.
Irish Water says it consulted the Data Protection Commissioner before requesting the information.
