Several of the Ireland players sat-out training today as the squad began preparations for Sunday's Euro2016 qualifier against Poland.

James McCarthy and Darron Gibson were among the players to be rested after their recent exertions with Everton while Stephen Ward will be getting further medical assessment for a niggling injury.

Derry man Gibson is carrying a groin injury.

Jonathan Walters is teaming up with the squad today.

The attacking midfielder played for his club over the weekend as he continues his recovery from a fractured cheekbone.
