A Strabane Councillor is claiming that police refused to go to the home of an elderly couple who had been burgled in Sion Mills on Sunday night.
Cllr Patsy Kelly says the couple had gone to church shortly before 6pm, and when they returned, they found their house had been broken into and a quantity of gold jewellery had been taken.
He says he’s been told police were in lockdown in Strabane on Sunday night, and says if an officer is unavailable to visit the scene of a crime against an elderly couple, then the effectiveness of our policing service must be re-evaluated.
He says questions must be asked………..
