Timlin & McBride return for first league appearance at the Brandywell

Derry City will face another tough test at the Brandywell on Friday evening as they play host to league Champions Dundalk.
After a difficult start to the season last week away in Galway, the Candystripes will be looking to get another three points at home this time out.
Ties between the two sides last season saw the Louth side come out on top with two wins in Oriel Park, while Derry became one of only three sides not to lose to Dundalk at home in the league when they drew 2-2 in the Brandywell.
Speaking ahead of the game Peter Hutton had this to say, “We are looking to what should be a great game and a great occasion. After last weeks win in Galway we would be hopeful that we will also get a good home support to come out and get behind the lads. We can’t ask for a bigger test for our first home game of the season than the current champions coming to town and we are really looking for to it. Our performance could have been much better last weekend but we know it’s not going to be easy to pick up points on the road this season, so we are happy with the start and it will also help build confidence in the squad. We seemed a little nervous at times last week so to come away with two goals and the three points was very satisfying indeed.”
Derry will welcome back Mark Timlin and Club Captain Ryan McBride after they sat out last weeks opener through suspension. While still on the treatment table will be, Anthony Elding (calf) , Shaun Kelly (knee), Stephen Dooley (disk) and Ger Doherty (hip) while Seanan Clucas may miss out as the club still awaits clearance for him to play.
