Ireland’s Mark English is through to the final of the 800m at the European Indoor Athletics Championships in Prague.
The Letterkenny athlete was well placed throughout his semi-final and at one stage looked as if he was going to win.
But Britain’s Guy Learmonth pipped the UCD AC athlete on the line to win in 1.50.50 with English on 1.50.54.
In the second heat, Ireland’s Declan Murray could only manage 5th and so misses out.
