BREAKING : DACC receive confirmation that general surgeon to be appointed to Letterkenny General

It’s been confirmed that a general surgeon will be appointed at Letterkenny General Hospital within the next four months.

At a meeting with representatives from the Department of Health and a number of cancer campaign groups today, a commitment was given that a general surgeon would be appointed by June.
A commitment has also been given that two locum GP’s will be appointed to support the breast unit.
Dr Michael Sugrue had raised concerns about the future of Breast Cancer Services in Co Donegal on the Shaun Doherty Show earlier this week.
Its also been confirmed that a planned rally will now NOT go ahead on Sunday March 8th in light of todays meeting.

Meanwhile Minister Joe McHugh welcomed today’s positive meeting on Letterkenny General Hospital.
