The comments follow the release of a Kerrykeel man who was convicted of dangerous driving causing the death of a Letterkenny Garda.
23-year-old Jamie McGrenaghan spent less than four years in prison for the incident in which Garda Robbie McCallion lost his life.
McGrenaghan was due for release in June next year, but he was released in December after he benefitted from the 25% remission law.
