GAA Sigerson result and news on appeals

UCC and DCU will contest tomorrow's Sigerson Cup final.

DCU's Enda Smith scored two goals, including a dramatic late winner, as the north Dublin side beat local rivals UCD by 2-08 (pr: Two-eight) to 11 points at the Mardyke.

In the second semi-final, defending champions UCC booked their place in yet another Sigerson Cup decider after an 11-point win over I-T Carlow.

Goals from Luke Connolly and Thomas Hickey helped the tournament hosts to a comfortable victory by 2-13 (pr: Two-thirteen) to 8 points.

Meanwhile, Derry's Mark Lynch has had his one-match ban upheld after losing his appeal against the red card he was shown during their recent loss to Kerry in the National League.

The Derry captain will now miss next week's derby against Tyrone.

Elsewhere, Mayo midfielder Aidan O'Shea has also lost his appeal against the black card he was shown during their recent game against Tyrone.
