Junior Health Minister Kathleen Lynch has confirmed a Children’s Outreach Nurse will be appointed in Donegal this year.
The deployment of such a nurse was one of the key requests made by the “Our Childrens Voice” group which met with Minister Leo Varadkar last week to discuss palliative care for children in the county.
Now, in answer to a Dail question from Deputy Thomas Pringle, MInister Lynch has confirmed the HSE will appoint two such nurses nationwide this year, one of them in Donegal.
Gina Grant is one of the members of the group.
She says this is a very important breakthrough, and hopefully an indication of more progess to come……..
