Given has plenty to offer and hopes Sherwood sees it

Shay Given 0914 bAston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given has expressed hope that his FA Cup performance against Leicester City on Sunday has proved to new manager Tim Sherwood that he still has something to offer.
The 38-year-old Lifford stopper fell out of favour at Villa Park under previous boss Paul Lambert, with Brad Guzan and Jed Steer moving ahead of him in the pecking order.
Given, who played alongside Sherwood at Blackburn Rovers at the start of his career, made several crucial saves in the 2-1 win which moves Villa into the quarter-finals of the cup.
“When the new manager comes in it’s a clean slate for everyone, I have plenty to offer and I hope that Tim sees that today.” Given said.
