Martin McGuinness receives death threat from dissident republicans

Police have warned Stormont’s deputy first minister, Martin McGuinness of a threat against his life from dissident republicans.

McGuinness, said he was informed of the threat by police tonight.

He says PSNI told him dissidents planned to attack him using a rocket launcher.

Police say the threat was made by the CIRA.

Issuing a statement on his Twitter page, Martin McGuinness said while he took the threat very seriously, he insisted he would not be defelcted in his work for peace.

It’s not the first time Mr McGuinness has received death threats from dissidents.
