Brogan says Varadkar must intervene to address LGH staffing issues

Health Minister Leo Varadkar is being urged to visit Letterkenny General Hospital in the wake of weekend pressures which culminated with the INMO recording 40 patients waiting for beds yesterday morning, 18 of them in the emergency department and 22 on wards.
Cllr Ciaran Brogan, one of Donegal’s representatives on the HSE West Regional Health Forum says there are no closed wards at the hospital which can be reopened to ease the crisis, and he believes this is an issue of staffing.
This, he says, means outside intervention is necessary………
