Ulster Senior League champions Cockhill Celtic failed to advance to the quarter final stage of the FAI Intermediate Cup, when they were beaten by 2 goals to 1 by St. Mochta’s of Dublin.
Cockill conceded a goal on 16 minutes but Garvan Friel equalised just before half time.
A wonder strike 5 minutes into the second half left Cockhill a goal down but despite a number of chances they failed to get a deserved equaliser.
After the match, Myles Gallagher asked Cockhill Celtic manager Donal O’Brien was the 2-1 defeat to St. Mochta a fair reflection of the 90 minutes football.
