Is ITV really bringing back Celebrity Love Island ?

Love Island

Celebrity Love Island is reportedly making a return to TV – under the new name The Resort.
The reality dating show – which saw single celebrities cast away on a romantic island in Fiji together in the hope some of them would find love – ran for two series in 2005 and 2006.
The first series saw TV presenter Jayne Middlemiss and nightclub owner Fran Cosgrave named the winning couple, while series two paired up footballer offspring Bianca Gascoigne with Calum Best.
Former Hollyoaks star Paul Danan appeared in both series and stole the show with his emotional outbursts of both love and anger.
Now the Daily Star reports ITV2 is planning to revive the concept as The Resort, set in a luxury resort, with filming due to begin in Europe this summer.
The original show, which was axed due to disappointing ratings, saw viewers vote for which celebs they would like to see go on a date to the “love shack” in the hope they would find romance, while the contestants were also able to vote for who they wanted to see booted off the island.
Other personalities who took part included Boyzone’s Shane Lynch, Strictly Come Dancing’s Brendan Cole, socialite sisters Lady Victoria and Isabella Hervey and tabloid favourites Abi Titmuss and Rebecca Loos.
