Cooney appointed to Donegal Backroom

Jack CooneyJack Cooney has been appointment to the Donegal backroom team.

At last nights Donegal County Board meeting he was ratified by the clubs to take up the role as coach/selector under Manager Rory Gallagher and his assistant Gary Mc Daid.

Cooney's cv includes being a selector under Paidi O'Se and Luke Dempsey at Westmeath where he won a Leinster title in 2004.

A star on the field with Westmeath in the 90's Jack also managed his home club Coralstown/Kinnegad and in Kildare with Cellbridge.

Cooney is stranger to the Donegal as his wife Elaine comes from Kilcar.
