McGlynn helps Ireland to bronze in European Cross Country Championships

Letterkenny AC member Ann Marie McGlynn captained the women’s team that won a bronze medal in the European Cross Country Championships in Bulgaria.
McGlynn finished 46th overall and was the fourth and final scoring Irish competitor. Her run helped Ireland to a total of 87 points – just one clear of the French in fourth.
Former individual winner Fionnuala Britton (Kilcoole AC) had to be content with sixth Sarah Treacy was 12th and Michelle Finn was 23rd over the challenging course.
McGlynn, who hails from Tullamore and who lives in Strabane, spoke with Chris Ashmore on Highland Radio Sunday Sport, and recalled that she wasn’t sure if they had won a bronze as they crossed the line.
