Knee injury rules Magee out of Irish Open

chloe mageeIreland’s double Olympian Chloe Magee has been forced to withdraw from the Carlton Irish Open due to a knee Injury.
The event is being held this week in Baldoyle.
Magee was tipped as a hot contender for a podium finish in the women’s singles and mixed doubles event after her recent show of excellent form at the Brazilian Grand Prix and Yonex All England where she reached the last 16.
“I’m devastated to have to pull out of the Irish Open, the home event means so much more to me than any other and I love playing with my family and friends in the crowd. The home crowd is always so supportive which makes a big difference. I was hoping to end the year on a high but it could be worse and I’m looking forward to a good Olympic qualifying year” said Magee when interviewed about her injury.
