800 second level teachers in Donegal are striking today in protest at proposed changes to the way the Junior Cert exam is structured.
Sean Carr is a teacher at St Eunan's College in Letterkenny and a member of the ASTI.
Speaking on the picket line at the college this morning, he said teachers accept change is necessary. However, he added expecting teachers to assess and mark their own students puts them in an invideous position, and that's simply not acceptable.............
That point has been echoed by Lorcan Donnelly, an ASTI member and teacher at Loretto College in Letterkenny.................
