Only 48% of Donegal’s population will receive broadband high speed from the private sector

The Government has unveiled the next phase of the national Broadband plan today.
A map has been published showing where high-speed internet connections will be introduced by the provate sector by the end of 2016, and also the areas that will need State intervention to reach the same standard.
500 million Euro is being invested in the scheme providing high-speed Broadband to all homes, schools and businesses in locations that commercial operators don’t consider viable.
Donegal North East Deputy Charlie Mc Conalogue says with the private sector planning to serve just under 50% of the county’s population, the challenge in the future will be a formidable one………….
