LYIT Men’s soccer team qualified for the Division One Quarter-Finals of the Colleges & Universities Football League with a 5-1 victory over Galway Technical Institute in Mervue yesterday (Wednesday) evening.
A penalty from Institute Striker Paul McVeigh and 2 goals apiece from Kilmacrennan Celtics’ Daire McDaid and Letterkenny Rovers striker Steve Okakpu got the job done for LYIT.
They will will now play NUI Galway next week with the winner of that contest getting home advantage in the last eight.
