Man to stand trial for Barry McCrory murder in Derry

A Derry man has been returned for trial on a charge of murdering a man in the city last year.
59 year-old Kieran McLaughlin of 60, Elaghmore Park in the city appeared at a preliminary enquiry today at Derry Magistrate’s Court.
He was charged with murdering Barry McCrory on October 10 last year.
He was also charged with possessing firearms with intent to endanger life on October 16.
It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.
McLaughlin’s barrister said his client did not wish to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage.
McLaughlin was returned for trial in custody to appear at Belfast Crown Court on December 5.
