Maria McCambridge second in marathon – Olympic hopes still there

Maria McCambridge, the Dublin based athlete married to Letterkenny athlete Gary Crossan, finished as the runner-up in the women’s section of the Dublin City Marathon.
And afterwards she declared that she was “happy gutted”.
She was beaten by just four seconds by  Esther Macheria from Kenya.
McCambridge’s time was 2 hours, 34 minutes and 19 seconds.
The 35th annual Dublin City Marathon wa swon by Eliud Too from Kenya in two hours, 14 minutes and 46 seconds.
Despite being 39, McCambridge is hoping to compete in the Olympics in 2016.
There was a large Donegal contingent taking part in this year’s SSE Airtricity Dublin City Marathon.
