A Stranorlar Area Councillor says pressure must be put on government to provide a new bridge over the River Finn linking Donegal and Castlederg.
Cllr Gary Doherty was speaking after work began last week to widen the approach to Castlefinn Bridge after a lengthy local campaign. The works were formally approved at last month’s meeting of Donegal County Council.
Cllr Doherty says the approach to the bridge has been in a state of disrepair for some time, and this work will provide some relief in the short to medium term.
However, in the long term, he says a more permanent solution will be necessary……..
