The funeral of Jimmy and Kathleen Cuddihy, will take place at Sacred Heart Church in Carndonagh today. The bodies of the couple, both in their 70s, were found at their home in Churchtown, Carndonagh on Thursday morning.
On Friday night, at a special sitting of Ballyshannon court, Julian Cuddihy was charged with the murder of his parents.
The 42-year-old was remanded in custody and Judge Kevin Kilraine directed that the prison authorities have him undergo a psychiatric assessment.
The Family have issued a statement thanking Gardai, medical and other personnel, neighbours, friends and the local community for their support and sensitivity at this most difficult time.
Today’s funeral at Sacred Heart Church will be conducted by Fr Con Mc Laughlin – He told Highland Radio News today that this tragedy has made Carndonagh a silent and mournful place……..
