The opening of a new pet shop and garden centre tomorrow will result in the creation of 30 new jobs in Letterkenny.
Cooney’s Home and Garden will open in Letterkenny Retail Park on the site formerly occupied by Atlantic Homecare, just next to Lidl.
The new store will include homewares & giftware, a party shop, furniture, outdoor clothing and a café.
The man behind the venture is Gary Cooney, who operated Gary’s Pet World and Garden Centre on the Pearse Rd in Letterkenny for the past 20 years.
He says they’ll employ just over 40 staff altogether, and he hopes to employ more seasonal workers approaching Christmas:
