Four people arrested in Derry as part of major drugs investigation

psniThree men and a woman were today arrested in Derry as part of an operation into the supply of drugs in Northern Ireland.

The three men are aged 30, 40 and 42, while the woman is 44 years-old.

Along with the four people arrested in Derry, five other people have been arrested in Manchester, Belfast and Newtownards in connection with the same drugs investigation.

The people have been taken to custody suites in Belfast, Antrim and Derry for interview.

Police said searches were carried out in the Manchester area, Derry, Belfast, Newry and Newtownards.

A number of items including documents, cash, phones, jewellery and small quantities of suspected drugs have been removed for further examination.

The two suspects arrested in England are being brought to Northern Ireland.
