Donegal councillor calls for “resistance” as installation of water meters begins

A Donegal County Cllr says he fully supports anyone who tries to stop Irish Water engineers from installing water meters in the county.

Water charges will come into effect today but just 400,000 households have actually been metered around the country – a quarter of the total needed.

Meter installation will take place in Co Donegal during the coming week.

Cllr Micheal Cholm Mac Giolla Easbuig says he wouldn't discourage people from vandalising meters once they are installed.............
