Top 40 finish in Spain for Deignan

Letterkenny’s Philip Deignan finished in 39th place on the Vuelta Espana which concluded on Sunday.
Deignan rode a great race in Spain and at times was a giant for Team Sky leader Chris Froome in the mountains.
There is no doubt that Philip will have a long and rewarding career ahead of him at Team Sky if he can maintain his form.
Ireland’s Dan Martin was 7th taking his higest ever Grand Tour finish.
Alberto Contador won the event for the 3rd time in his career.
