Alcohol unit will not be located at Derry’s Nazareth House

The Oaklee Trinity Housing Organisation has confirmed that it will not proceed with plans for an alcohol addiction unit at the Nazareth House site in Derry.

There was substantial opposition from the local community when the plan for the unit was first mooted earlier this year, with local people saying there was a saturation of such facilities in the immediate area, and it couldn't take any more.

Now, the housing orgaisation says it will seek an alternative site for the alcohol unit, but will proceed with its plans to acquire Nazareth House and develop social housing there.
