Council Vice Chairperson says giving each member a tablet and printer is value for money

A Donegal County Councillor has said giving every member a new tablet represents value for money.

It was revealed at yesterdays Donegal County Council meeting that all 37  councillors would receive a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, along with a printer.

The bill for the equipment will be footed by the taxpayer, costing in the region of 15,000 euro.

But Vice-Chairperson of Donegal County Council Cllr Nicholas Crossan said it isn't a huge expense.....

Meanwhile, Cllr Dessie Sheils said he had not been told what the situation is regarding ownership of the tablets

But he did say he'd be willing to pay for the device out of his own pocket............
