McIlroy blows it after bad second round

Rory McIlroy’s challenge at the Scottish Open golf crumbled yesterday – but he’s hoping for a home victory at next week’s Open Championship at Royal Liverpool.
The Northern Irishman followed up his course record from the first round to hit a 7-over par second day in Aberdeen – meaning he’s level par at the halfway point.
But it’s been a disappointing summer for UK sport – and McIlroy told Sky Sports News he’d like to make things better at next week’s Major.
