July 12th Orange Order parade will not go through Strabane

orange+menWest Tyrone MP Pat Doherty has welcomed restrictions imposed upon an Orange Order Parade in Strabane on the morning of 12 July.

The restrictions will will forbid the parade of 4 bands, with 200 participants, and an estimated 100 supporters to proceed further than the War Memorial on the Derry Road in line with what the Orange Order have filed for in recent years.

The MP said if allowed through the main street the parade would have been provocative a suggestion which was rejected by Ulster Unionist Councillor Derek Hussey.
