Luis Suarez has been handed a four-month ban from all football-related activities.
The striker has also been suspended for the next 9 competitive internationals for Uruguay and has been fined 100,000 Swiss Francs after being found guilty of biting an opponent at the World Cup.
The world-wide ban will also extend to the player’s club career.
Suarez will not be able to represent Liverpool during that time, although FIFA say that he will be permitted to transferred between clubs.
FIFA spokesperson Delia Fischer out-lined the decision today.
