Carthy seeks support for NW Health Innovation Corridor plan

Matt Carthy

The Irish Government is being asked to match funding already committed by the Executive at Stormont for the establishment of a Northwest Health Innovation Corridor.

The idea is to foster a partnership between industry and health related statutory bodies along a line from Sligo to Coleraine via Letterkenny and Derry, with its focus on job creation on a cross border basis.

The idea was first mooted by Northern Ireland MEP Martina Anderson, and now the newly elected Sinn Fein MEP Matt Carthy has become involved, writing to the Department of Health in Dublin seeking support for the plan.

He's also urging other political representatives to get involved.............
