Lissadell House to reopen

houseLissadell House in county Sligo is to reopen. The house was closed to the public in recent years after a lengthy legal battle over rights of way through the estate.  Today, the owners, Barristers Edward Walsh and Constance Cassidy, who bought Lissadell in 2003, announced that the historic building is to reopen to visitors. The Taoiseach Enda Kenny is to perform the opening next Friday. Edward Walsh says he believes Lissadell has a bright future. On top of the agenda is a renewal of the international concerts that saw Leonard Cohen and Westlife play in front of thousands in 2010. The couple say they are definitely planning an appearance by a major star next year and still hope it may not be too late to arrange a concert this year.
