Donegal defaulters pay a total of 1.3 million euro in tax and penalties

Over 1.3 million euro was paid to the Revenue Commissioners in tax and penalties by 11 individuals and businesses in Donegal between January and March of this year.
The figure is included in the latest Tax Defaulters List, which has just been published.
The highest Donegal payment in the first quarter was made by Ferry’s Refuse in Rossbracken, who paid almost 275,000 euro in tax, interest and penalties for underdeclaration of VAT.
Company Director and Restauranteur Hugh O’Donnell of Main Street, Killybegs paid almost 248,000 euro for undeclaration of income tax.
Property Developer John J O’Connor of Ramelton Road, Milford paid just over 189,000 euro for underdeclaration of income tax and relevant contracts tax.
Company Director and Landlord Sean Duffy of The Diamond, Raphoe paid almost 151,000 euro for underdeclaration of income tax and capital gains tax, while accountant Frank Kelly of Mountain Top, Letterkenny paid just over 106,000 euro for underdeclaration of income tax.
Six more individuals and companies reached settlements of under 100,000, totalling just over 337,000 euro between them.
