The highest percentage drop was 10% in Donegal Town, where there were 1231 signing on, while in Dungloe, there were 1913 people on the register, down 9.7%.
Dunfanaghy recorded a total of 1392, down 9.4%, while in Killybegs, there were 1153 signing on, down 6.8% on May last year.
There were 4,165 people on the register in Inishowen, a fall of 8% on May 2013, while in Letterkenny, there were 5,702 signing on, down just over 4%.
There were 2,561 signing on in Ballybofey, and 1,441 in Ballyshasnnon, both down 5%.
