Glencolmcille Parish Council joins campaign to retain Tourism College in Killybegs

The Parish Council in Glencolmcille says the proposed closure of the Killybegs Tourism College is shortsighted in the extreme.
In a letter supporting the college which has been sent to Tourism Minister Leo Varadkar and the Higher Education Authority, the council says the Killybegs campus of LYIT has shown an unparalelled commitment to Donegal, and many local people have gained employment in tourism locally as a result of courses there.
That council adds that apart from its educational value, the college plays a central role in the local economy.
Chairperson Liam O’Cuinnigean is not convinced that moving tourism courses to Letterkenny makes economic sense………..
