Galligan claims family members were subjected to “vile abuse” while trying to pass Letterkenny protest

Christy Galligan
A local election candidate in Letterkenny is claiming a member of his campaign team and her 10 year old sister were intimidated and abused when they attempted to drive past an anti Water Charges protest on the market square.
Christy Galligan says the car, which was fitted with loudspeakers and had his name and the Labour logo written on it was surrounded by protesters who banged on the car roof several times, and shouted what he described as vile abuse.
Mr Galligan says despite five requests to stop, particularly because there was a child in the back seat, the abuse continued for some time………….
