Gardai undertake Bank Holiday weekend crackdown

Dozens of checkpoints will be in place across the country this weekend as Gardaí gear up for one of the most dangerous periods on Irish roads.
They’ll be on the lookout for speeders, drink-drivers, as well as motorists using their mobile phones.
3 people died over the May Bank Holiday Weekend last year – and Gardaí say they’re determined not to let that figure rise.
Assistant Garda Commissioner John Twomey says a nationwide operation is in effect:
