One Direction Video Controversy

After a successful run of sold-out shows at Croke Park last weekend, a video has emerged of One Direction band members, 21-year-old Zayn Malik and 22-year-old Louis Tomlinson, discussing illegal substances. The pair are also seen smoking a rolled-up cigarette.

Tomlinson, who is believed to be filming the five minute video which features Malik throughout, is heard saying: "So here we are, leaving Peru. Joint lit. Happy days!"

Near the end of the footage the camera pans to a police motorcyclist driving alongside the vehicle. Tomlinson can then be heard saying: "He's having a look. He's thinking, 'I'm sure I can smell an illegal substance in there'. And he's hit the nail on the head."

The footage, published by the MailOnline, appears to have been filmed by Tomlinson while they travelled to a concert at the Estadio Nacional in Lima, Peru. Other band members Harry Styles, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan are believed to have been travelling in different cars and are not seen in the video.

A spokesman for One Direction told The Guardian that there is no further comment adding: "This matter is in the hands of our lawyers".
