Work on preventing future flooding at Letterkenny General Hospital can begin after the council approved planning permission for the construction of a culvert.
The hospital was devasted by flash flodding last year which left much of the hospital services affected with repair costs in the tens of millions.
The new culvert will divert any future flood away from the buildings.
